The Faubourg Birkin is the first-ever Birkin to be made in a 20cm size. It also features sharp Sellier stitching, a structured look usually only found on the Kelly. This gives the bag a very clean, crisp silhouette. As a brilliant finishing touch, the designers turned the clochette into a tiny orange Hermès shopping bag.
The front of the bag is a recreation of the store’s facade, featuring perfectly placed windows, and the signature awning. To capture the cool, quiet visual of Parisian streets after a downpour, the Rainy Day Birkin Faubourg uses a sophisticated palette of greys, like Gris Misty and Gris Ciment.
This Rainy Day captures the quiet elegance of the Paris flagship in the rain onto the bag itself. Every window is aligned with millimeter precision, and the curve of the awnings is natural and three-dimensional. Creating a “miniature building” by stitching together so many different, irregularly shaped leathers requires an extreme level of craftsmanship.

To build a Birkin House Bag, you need the finest materials. This Rainy Day is a complex puzzle made of six distinct leathers and Matte Mississippiensis Alligator.
The walls are crafted from Gris Misty Epsom, while the window panes use Craie Epsom to create a bright, realistic glass effect. The front flap, handles, and straps are made from Gris Ciment Matte Alligator. To complement this cool-toned palette, the bag features Permabrass hardware, whose soft, champagne-gold hue adds a touch of understated elegance. The signature awnings and the “shopping bag” clochette are in Orange H Swift, providing a pop of classic color against the Black Sombrero trim and Black Swift base. Even the hidden details are luxurious, as the interior is lined with supple Gris Misty Chèvre leather.

The firmness of the Epsom, the buttery smoothness of the Swift, and the exotic, velvety feel of the Matte Alligator create a rich, multi-layered sensation. What impresses me most is the seamless transition between these materials. Joining different leather types—each with a different thickness and stretch—is a technical nightmare. Yet, on this bag, the seams are perfectly flush. The scales on the Gris Ciment Alligator flap are symmetrical and beautifully centered.
